Contiki is the tour company where like minded young people can explore destinations around the world in a safe, fun environment. A Contike tour is the prefect graduation or birthday gift.

In 1961, a young New Zealander, John Anderson, arrived in London to tour Europe. He didn't want to go alone and he didn't have much money, so he put a deposit on a minibus and gathered a group of travellers who spent twelve weeks exploring Europe. At the end of the trip, John tried to sell the minibus but no-one wanted it. So when the Spring of 1962 came around, he advertised his Europe tour again. This time, he was able to fit two trips into the Summer season and doubled his business. The first tours were for 19 - 29 year olds, so right from the start Contiki recognized the special needs of youth travel.
